IQF:We use quick freezing technology

When it comes to frozen goods and food storage, the term IQF stands for “Individual Quick Freezing.”

The IQF freezing method is special because of its ability to freeze all its components individually and keep them separate from each other.

For example, if we wanted to use an IQF freezer to freeze a batch of berries, the berries would not be grouped and frozen together. Instead, each individual berry within the batch will be separated. This makes it much easier to freeze and store individually produced produce such as peaches, berries and peas.

Advances in how products are frozen as well as in the speed at which the entire product can be frozen are reaching new heights technologically.

Frozen storage methods have also evolved over the years, but one of the biggest points of emphasis is the speed at which products are frozen. This is where IQF technology comes into play in the frozen food market. IQF freezing allows business owners to freeze a large portion of produce individually at the same time. This freezing method revolutionized the market as a whole.

How IQF works:

The IQF process relies on freezing the product very quickly. Freezing fast enough results in much smaller ice crystals within the product. Ice crystals that develop with slower freezing methods are larger, and these crystals damage the cells and tissues of the product.

This is the concept behind the IQF process.
Foods and products frozen through slower freezing methods tend to dry out and spoil when thawed. The formation of larger ice crystals damages cell walls and reduces food quality. However, IQF freezing does not allow the formation of larger ice crystals to occur.

The ice crystallization process takes place between 30 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit or -1 to -4 degrees Celsius. IQF freezers freeze content very quickly, bypassing this crucial area as quickly as possible. This ensures that the food is able to freeze while having only a minimal opportunity to form ice crystals within itself, thus maintaining the quality of the product.

By freezing the product quickly, the cells within the food are not damaged and are preserved so that a higher quality result is obtained every time.
